Ok thought I would start with this picture which show the Akosombo Dam and behind it Lake Volta. This picture is from the Akosombo Hotel where we waited a typical 55 minutes for our food to be cooked (caught/bought, cleaned, and then cooked??). I have no idea why Ghanaian service is sooo slow sometimes, especially when you look around and are surrounded by hosts of employees.......all milling about.
Near the dam, I took a picture of this sign at one of the government offices as I though it was entertaining. It quickly became obvious that the employees did not share the same sentiments and started to get extremely hostile (for a Ghanaian) when they saw me take a picture and chuckle. One lady started to argue with me and asked me what I thought was so funny, I told her the sign was amusing - this only angered her further. Suffice it to say Amy was already in the process of pulling away.....totally embarrassed I'm sure.
Typical transportation of cattle.......not sure if I would be smiling if I were in the back of that vehicle. Trust me, those steer were not comfortable, wriggling around in the back, so crazy to see. Given Ghanaian roads I'm pretty sure that the beef arrived tenderized.
